Our Beef

Purchasing a steer, or "share" is a great investment for your families health and annual food budget. It can also be a little scary and overwhelming for first timers! Our goal is to make this fun and easy for you. A deposit ($100 per 1/4) buys you a "share" of one of our finishing steers. If a whole steer is too much, we match you with other families that would like to share. We handle the brand inspection/ownership documents and make all final arrangements, including final delivery with your butcher for you.

We have a long list of excited customers that we've helped to take that first step to knowing where their food comes from (references available by request). Our steers are born and raised on a 25000 acre, Northern Arizona ranch. They live a stress free, active life grazing their way from one watering hole to the next. Steroids, growth hormones and preventative antibiotic programs associated with commercial feedlots won't be found here. Raised naturally, our beef does take longer to finish but we feel it's worth the wait. Our customers enthusiastically agree.

Our grass fed and finished steers have just under 2600 acres of the best grass on the ranch all to themselves. The small number that we run here makes it possible to finish with no supplemental hay. They feed on 100% native grasses and spring water. We call this, "Beyond Organic".

We also offer a limited number of lean and delicious steers raised on grass but finished for 60 days on brewers mash and high quality corn, oats and barley for those customers looking for more marbling and a higher fat content.

We sell ¼'s ½'s and wholes with an average wait time of 1 to 3 months. On occasion, someone will change the size of their purchase which leaves a ¼ or ½ available on short notice so it's important to be on the list. Once the butcher starts, your beef is dry aged 14 to 21 days before being cut, wrapped and frozen for delivery. Most of our customers prefer the standard butcher cut but on ½'s and whole orders, custom processing is available at no extra charge. Example: If you enjoy your steaks 2" thick as opposed to 1" or prefer a tenderloin roast over Porterhouse and T-bone steaks, we can customize your order to put the cuts you want in your freezer.

Our target finish weight is 1100lbs which yields an average of 385 to 410lbs of beef delivered per steer. Current pricing is $8.25 per pound for beef you actually end up with. With us, there is no confusion with buying "hanging weight" and associated shrinkage in the aging process.

Example:
¼ at 100lbs would cost $825.00
½ at 205lbs would cost $1691.25

Delivery to your door in Lake Havasu is a flat .40 cents per pound.

Freezer space:
Your beef comes wrapped in individual cuts making them easy to stack and store. A ¼ will typically take 5 cubic feet of space (average side by side refrigerator has between 8 and 9 cubic feet of freezer space). We recommend a quality, stand-alone chest freezer for your bulk purchases (surely, you'll want pork and chicken from us as well!)

40ish Pound Boxes - Currently Available:

Buying beef by the ¼ and larger isn't a great fit for everyone. Singles, seasonal visitors and customers short on freezer space have all asked for a smaller purchase option. This year, we are offering a limited number of "40ish" pound boxes of our Grass Finished or Grain Finished beef at $9.85 per pound. Delivery to your door in Lake Havasu is a flat .40 cents per pound.
